Pakistani Truck Art, Transportation, and Street Scenes

In Hong Kong I was fascinated with windows. Here in Pakistan I have been fascinated by truck art. This is a folk art form that some say goes back to the early 20th century. Probably the best article I’ve read on it, with all its historical periods, is by Nadeem Paracha in the newspaper, Dawn., called “The elusive history and politics of Pakistan’s truck art.” Since I don’t know the meaning of many of the symbols and don’t read Urdu, I just enjoy the varieties and colors along with the backdrop of street scenes and multiple types of transportation.
