Throughout my professional and academic career there have been three constant themes that have captured my attention:

Be GLOBALLY INFORMED

Intercultural competence is key to interacting in today’s world. My work in global settings and pursuit of experiences that build understanding and relationships across cultures and places informs my leadership.

  • Fulbrights fellowships

  • Presentations and publications

  • City University of Hong Kong

  • New Zealand research and experiences

  • Fulbright to Guelph, Canada

  • Latin American experience

  • Book on Hong Kong

Assess and Evaluate Effectiveness

Organizations dedicated to achieving success recognize that good stewardship of resources and effort arises out of an openness to assessment and evaluation. Among the many opportunities where I have led assessment efforts are these:

  • Kendall College strategic planning

  • Swan River, Manitoba, CPE assessment and publication

  • Provost and Dean accomplishments

Grow Women Leaders

Key to growing women leaders lies in identifying successful strategies for developing a culture that incorporates the gifts that women bring to an organization and recognizing how to exercise those gifts. I have played an essential role in several initiatives to grow women leaders:

  • Women in Leadership study website

  • Women succeeding in Academics website

  • Essays, publications, and presentations

  • 8-year faculty development plan, presentations, and workshops conducted at Western Kentucky University, Gordon College, Calvin College, Ballermine, IWU, and Bethel University
